Fred and Martie’s Soup kitchen has been in operation for more than 4 decades, 46 years to be exact. Although we operate under the name Fred and Martie’s Soup kitchen, our organisation is much more than a soup kitchen it is a well-established and reputable community centre with a holistic view of upliftment and empowerment.
We are a registered non-profit organisation, with a > 80% BEE rating.
It is our mission to continue making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate children and elderly folk no matter what…
Preparing and serving daily meals for most children this is the only meal they will get for the day. Assisting parents and local public schools with the financial burden of school fees and uniforms.
Uplifts to elderly in the community and to lift the burden of poverty through the provision of food parcels.
Afford an opportunity for our children to be educated about animals and nature, road safety and to demonstrate the positive impact of animals on our children.
Affording an opportunity to underprivileged and disadvantaged children and elderly people in the community to socially interact. Teaching our children to read and make them fall in love with learning which leads to positive outcomes
in their results at school.
Creating a sense of community through the involvement of members in the community assisting in the vegetable gardens.
Creating a clean healthy community through our community recycling project which indirectly teaches our children business principles and affording them the opportunity to obtain toiletries,
clothing and stationary for school to mention a few.
Our homework assistance program has seen many proven results, living testimonies of children that was lagging behind and whom are now performing above standard.
Our aim is to leave a thumb print on the lives of these “little people” to encourage them to rise above their current circumstances and to inspire them to better themselves.
